Why move NOW?! (a tongue-in-cheek reasoning guide)

  • The triplets are about to come home from the hospital in a few months or the twins are off to college.

  • The dogs and the kids need a backyard. Or YOU need them to have a backyard.

  • You want to live closer to your aging parents or want your parents to move closer to you in order to take care of them.

  • You got divorced or married.

  • You love a water view (we're not talking about a pool here).

  • You have just been transferred or moved into or out of the area.

  • You want more garden space or want to eliminate the hours devoted to mowing the grass.

  • You just found out your boss moved into your neighborhood.

  • You need some room away from the teenagers or need a finished basement.

  • You need another bathroom in the morning.

  • You want a garage or driveway or need to get off the street during snowstorms or street cleaning.

  • You want to live on one floor or are tired of climbing the stairs or want your bedrooms on the second floor.

  • You have an adjustable mortgage and want a fixed lower rate.

  • You have reached the $500K limit on your capital gains (or $250K if you are single).

  • You need an addition but it is easier on everyone to move to a bigger home than live in a construction zone.

  • You want to take advantage of the in-state tuition rate at any state college or university and you could move to DC.

  • You have retired and the warm sun in Florida or the mountains of Colorado are beckoning you.

  • You love your neighborhood & neighbors but want a different house.

Please share your own reason(s) and I'll post it (them).
